The client, a civilian department (“department”), deploys a large fleet of vehicles for transporting and delivering goods to its local branch offices, where the supplies can then be distributed to civilians.

Background

The department is changing with advancements in technology and currently leverages an Internet of Things (IoT) solution, using sensors to gather data about the vehicle and the driver’s habits. The sensor data is transmitted and stored in the cloud. The department is hoping to leverage this data to help create a human-centered approach that improves operational efficiency and employee safety.

The department would like to perform data analysis on the information collected to provide insights on driver behavior and safety, and would like to develop an application to transmit personalized safety messages to drivers to encourage safe driving in order to reduce accidents, lower fuel costs, and optimize delivery schedules.

Club Co. has asked Deloitte to help assess each option and determine how lucrative each would be.
